I'm not exactly sure when or where my love for robots came from but I know I have loved them ever since I was at least 8. When I was around 15 I started sketching out daily activities of mine while they were happening and I would star in them as a robot. Not a very detailed robot but a robot. When I decided to focus on my photography career a little more I wanted a unique icon for my business. Naturally, I choose a robot. I had the robot logo made at the same time as my main logo that appears on my website, business cards, photo books, and all of my official paperwork. I have yet to include the robot into anything but I think that time will be coming soon. I don't know where or when it will show up but when it does...you will be ready. Logo by Visual Hook Design Toronto-based designer Ben Johnston crafted this clever identity system for South African photographer Dylan Culhane. This is probably one of the most attractive marketing packaging sets I have seen in a while. The minimalist approach was executed perfectly with the sharpness of the yellow against the black. The only thing I may have changed for myself would have been to include some sort of photos into the packaging since he is a photographer, of course. A lot of people, also artists, don't think of the attractiveness of their packaging as a major concern. That is where they went wrong. Not only does it help promote your business to new clients but it also helps brand yourself with your existing clients. If someone handed you an expensive business card but followed it up with a plastic bag as their briefcase, you would not be impressed. You may not have a briefcase but you do have an envelope, CD, box, thank you card, and any other item that you will hand to your client. All of those things make a positive impact on not only their experience but yours as the business owner.
I personally use www.moo.com for my paper products including my business cards. They are a little more expensive but I keep these items to hand out myself. I do order business cards from a cheaper website for mass marketing. I had the chance to work with ABC Productions for the first time tonight. http://elitelifestudio.com/?load=flash I was approached to do contract wedding photo shoots and I couldn't be happier. It was a gorgeous wedding at the Pensacola Lighthouse located on NAS Pensacola. The cake may have collapsed from the heat but the couple didn't. The Dents were noticeably so in love with each other. They wanted nothing more but for me to photograph them kissing while giggling in between. I am also fairly positive that one of my sister's high school friends was at the wedding. I didn't ask because I haven't seen here since I was 14 but it is always interesting how people reappear into your life. Overall, I wish Laura and Robert the best with their marriage. I also hope you have a safe hangover recovery in the morning. I hope you enjoyed the Apple Pie Moonshine! |
